Moffat January 30 1964 Militia CITY MILITIA RECRUITS AND CWAC EXAMINED BY LIEUTENANT T. H. ARGUE INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF WPG It was exam time Thursday night for militia recruits in Portage. Examining officer was Lieutenant T. H. Argue, at left, from the Instructional staff, Winnipeg. With him is Major V. H. Dyer, officer commanding the 38th Battery in Portage as they look over the written work of a couple recruits who will become full-fledged militiamen. The treatment was successful judging from the smiles of CWAC members of the 38th battery in portage who completed final recruit exams here Thursday. Drill, first aid and map reading were included in the basic training program. Now they will take over administrative jobs in the Portage unit – some of them as transport drivers.
