Tashiro July 11-12 1955 News PORTAGE FAIR PERSONALITIES VISITORS Mrs. Peg Longnecker, of Des Moines, producer of the variety show at the Portage Fair Grandstand, is seated between Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hyde. Mr. Hyde is a director of the Fair Board and is president of Western Canada Fairs Association. Some of the interested spectators watching Tuesday’s harness racing program at the Portage Fair, all attired in white shirts, are shown above. The group includes Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bates, Mac Brownridge, Hon. Ron Robertson, minister of agriculture, and Frank Brydon, president of the Fair, in the first row, and in the second, Gardner Young, Hon. Charles E. Greenlay, minister of labor and of mines and resources, and Deputy Agricultural Minister Bell. Duff Roblin, leader of the Progressive Conservative party in Manitoba, took in the portage fair along with thousands of others. He is shown above with Orville Sherritt, and Mr. and Mrs. David Logan.
