Out of Town Rinks Win All Events In Portage Curling Club Sponsored Junior 'Spiel
Lloyd Coates, seated on the left, skipped his rink to the championship of the Junior Curling bonspiel this weekend at Portage. Also seated is John Hyrich while standing are second Ken Barr, bonspiel chairman Vaughn Greenslade, and lead Dennis Hyrich.
Kevin McCreedy topped the second event as well as the 17 and under event in the Portage Junior bonspiel during the weekend. From the left are McCreedy, third Tim Dewart, Steve Scrymyeour and Miles Kliner.
Laurie De Pape, second from the left, skipped the Earle Treherne rink to top prize in the third event of the Portage Junior Curling bonspiel. Vaughn Greenslade (left) presented the winners with their cash prizes. Other curlers are Harv Moore and Bob Earle.
Dale Neufeld's Grade VIII La Verendrye rink are all 13-years of age and will be one of the youngest rinks in the Manitoba Schoolboy bonspiel beginning Boxing Day in Winnipeg. From the left are Neufeld, Daron Harder, Don and Ron Nagribianko. They won one and lost four in the junior curling bonspiel during the weekend.
