Tashiro April 8/55 Disaster PORTAGES WORST FLOOD IN THE LAST 40 YEARS
EAST OF PORATGE LA PRAIRIE, on the road leading south from the sub-station, the water started seeping across the road. However, the water subsided. The scene is about two miles south of No. 1 highway.
SIGHTSEERS: Hundreds of Portage and district residents Friday flocked to the scene of the Assiniboine flooding to get a first-hand look. The above scene was re-enacted time and time again that day.
