Tashiro July 20/67 PAN-AM BASEBALL CENTENNIAL PUERTO RICAN NATIONAL BASEBALLERS HOLD SHORT WORK-OUT HERE Diamond conditions at Portage were given the okay Thurday by Puerto Rican baseball team after a workout here. They talked it over with Gerry Cobbe later. Baseball workouts are being held daily on Portage’s Island diamond as the Pam-Am games approach. Ball players Friday said the grounds were “like a billiard table.” And balls were bouncing true. This is the Puerto Rican club giving the diamond its licks.
