Tashiro July 20/67 PAN-AM BASEBALL CENTENNIAL PUERTO RICAN NATIONAL BASEBALLERS HOLD SHORT WORK-OUT HERE Diamond conditions at Portage were given the okay Thurday by Puerto Rican baseball team after a workout here. They talked it over with Gerry Cobbe later. In the group above are, left to right, coach Raymond Roman, manager Hiram Bauza, coach Louis Merquez, Mr. Cobbe and Harman Quinones Bonets, president of the superior Circuit of Amateur Baseball in Puerto Rico. Baseball workouts are being held daily on Portage’s Island diamond as the Pam-Am games approach. Ball players Friday said the grounds were “like a billiard table.” And balls were bouncing true. This is the Puerto Rican club giving the diamond its licks.
