Adult education - First furniture refinishing class completed

Finished product

Mrs. P. Thorkelson, of Gladstone, left, finished the chair shown in the picture. Others, from the left, are Mrs. Geo. Sitter, Mrs. F. Holtz and Mrs. Wm. Demman, all of Portage and A. Gourley of Edwin. All five ladies were members of the Community Schools upholstery class that concluded Monday night with a display of the many items completed by students in the adult education class. Virgil Holmes, superintendent of schools, and Laurie Matthews, board chairman, represented the Portage school division.
