Fort la Reine School holds “capping” ceremony to mark end of the centennial year

The year-long centennial celebration ends tonight. A special ceremony is planned at city hall to seal the time capsule. But the children from Fort la Reine school held a ceremony of their own on the last day of school in 1970 to mark the end of the Centennial year. Each student crafted a hat for the special “capping” ceremony. As indicated in the photo, there was millinery of all shapes being worn that day.
