School opening 1956
Grade 12 students at the Portage Collegiate are shown above with teacher G. I. H. Garrett. The students this year are starting their first full term in the new building, which was officially opened last week. The school now includes students from the city and 18 surrounding school districts that are members of the Portage Secondary School Area.
