Victoria School “Birdhouse” contest top winners
Building boom for the birds — Several now houses are going up this week for Portage’s bird population. Shown here are winners of the Home and School sponsored competition at Victoria school this spring. In front are, left to right, grades 1 to 3 winners Jane Milther, Darlene Peden, Douglas Cannon and Pat Cannon. Standing are, left to right, grades 4 to 6 winners, Nancy Birkett, Hartley Marr, Craig Maxwell, and grade 7 and 8 winner Charlie Young. Missing is Lloyd Gamble. Honorable mention went to Debby Heath and Guy Birkett. Cash awards on behalf of the Home and School were presented winners by principal W. H. Bradley.
