Fun Festival

Winter Fun Festival Queen candidates - Judy Cook - Rotary Club; Sally Cuthbert - C of C

Two more young ladies have been declared candidates for Queen of the Centennial Winter Fun Festival. They are Judy Cook and Sally Cuthbert.

Judy Cook, the Rotary Club candidate, is the 22-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cook of 10 Yellowquill Drive.

Judy is a hairdresser at Verne's Classic Coiffeurs.

Judy is a member of Electa Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She is also the leader of a group of Explorers at Trinity Church.

Judy is a former PCI student, enjoys sports and curls with the Portage ladies.

Sally Cuthbert, the 20-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Cuthbert, 504 Crescent Road. is flying the Chamber of Commerce colors.

Sally is a kindergarten teacher at Victoria school. Before teaching in Portage, Sally took a special course in the education of Indian and Metis children at Cranberry Portage and taught last year at Grand Rapids.

Sally particularly enjoys sports and represented the Faculty of Education of the University of Manitoba at the university's winter carnival.

Besides sports. Sally sings in two choirs — the Carillon Singers and Trinity senior choir, and she makes many of her own clothes.
