0479B (Tashiro) February 28, 1972. Winter Fun Festival. Winter Fun Festival Site Preparation. Jam pail curlers will find six sheets of ice waiting for them on Crescent Lake this weekend. Public works men and firemen are joining forces to build the rink with assistance from Beaver Lumber and Mickey Demman of the curling club who will lay out the rings. A city road patrol is moving more than a foot of snow off Crescent Lake. When this particular job is finished it will be a speed skating oval. Skating is part of the program for the Winter Fun Festival this coming weekend.
