DEMOLITION WORKERS leave the site of the Pratt Block as this historic Portage building has been finally torn to the ground. Excavators are now at work digging the basement of the new $200,000 Woolworth store which is soon to be erected to this site. The old building, which was in its time a church, opera house and recreation centre for troops in the first world war, is making way for a modern, glass fronted store which will be one of the most up-to-date of its kind in Canada.
