SOY BEAN TESTS at the Special Crops Substation at Portage were checked Friday by Dr.John E. Giesbrecht, at right who is conducting similar tests at the Morden Experimental Farm for the federal department of agriculture. Here Dr. Giesbrecht checks out results with Tom Chesney, officer in charge of the Portage station.
IT MAY BE THRESHING on a small scale, but none could be more important than that being done these days at the Special Crops Substation here. Each tiny sheaf is put through the portable thresher seperately, and the results carefully noted. At right is Tom Chesney, officer in charge checking some durum about to be threshed.
