November 10/53 Aircraft CF-100 IN PORTAGE STATION The first CF-100 to land at RCAF Station Portage La Prairie is shown parked on the tarmac. The big all-weather fighter, piloted by Flight Lieutenant M. Kobierski of North Bay with Flight Lieutenant Turner as navigator, was en route to Vancouver from Ottawa and stopped at Southport for fuel. The trip from Ottawa took two and one-half hours and was carried out at a height of 44,000 feet.
