Baseballers Receive New Uniforms

Midget Baseball coaches Rick Evoy and Bill Taylor look pleased as they display the new uniforms recently presented by the Portage Minor Baseball Association to the Midget team. The other Portage Midget team Kinsmen Kolts received new uniforms last season. Rick is the secretary of the Portage Minor Baseball Association while Bill is past president.

Smith Motors Mustangs were presented with new uniforms recently. Harry Smith, the donor is shown displaying the uniforms with Mustang coach Ray Calvert. The Mustangs will be one of several Portage Minor Baseball teams in action Sunday at their Centennial tournament.

The Royal Canadian Legion recently presented their Little League team the Braves of the National League with a full set of new uniforms. Kieth Hutchinson, of the Legion on the left and Brave coach Lloyd Green holds one of the uniform tops while Doug Bell Portage Minor Baseball treasurer and nine Brave players look on.

Army, Navy and Airforce Phillies were recently the recipients of new baseball uniforms. On the extreme left Webster Burton Army, Navy and Airforce president, makes the presentation to team coach Mike Sczesny while past president of the Portage Minor Baseball Association Bill Taylor and 12 players on the Phillies ball team wait to try them on.

Knights of Columbus Giants of the Portage National Little League recently received new baseball uniforms. Mike Rodrigues of the Knights of Columbus, left, is displaying one of the uniforms with Bill Taylor, Portage Minor Baseball's past president and Giant coach Bill Kitson also inspects the material. Anxious to try the uniforms on are 11 members of the Giants in the picture.

The Rotary Club recently presented new uniforms to the Dodgers. Bruce Miller, a Rotarian, and also coach of the Dodgers and co-coach Phil Nicholson display the new uniform. Doug Bell, treasurer of the Portage Minor Baseball Association and members of the Dodgers are also in the picture. The Rotary Club sponsors the Dodgers in the National Little League and the Indians of the American League.

The Portage Lions Club presented new uniforms to their Little League team, the Lion Cubs recently. Gordon Robinson, Lions vice-president makes the presentation to coach Stan Lee while Bill Taylor, past president of the Portage Minor Baseball Association in the rear and members of the Cubs team look on.

Elk Cardinal coach John Amos on the right and Phil Nicholson of the Elks size up one of the new uniforms recently presented to the Elk Cardinals. In the background is Doug Bell of the Portage Minor Baseball Association. The Elks sponsor the Cardinals in the National League, Tigers in the American and Little Elks of the 10 and under, Little Canadian League.

Co-op Gems of the Portage Bantam league recently received new uniforms. Here, Bill Tate of the Co-op on the right and Gem coach Richard Hebert display one of the new tops. On the extreme left is Bill Munn, equipment manager of the Portage Minor Baseball Association.

Independent Order of Oddfellows - I.O.O.F. sponsors the Bantam League Royals. Doug Cameron, coach of the Royals on the left and Harold Armstrong of the I.O.O.F. on the right, display the new tops. The uniforms were recently presented to the Royals by the Oddfellows.

Portage Minor Baseball Association president Harry Hayward and Eagles coach Jim Stuart check the new uniforms for the Eagles of the Bantam League. The uniforms were recently presented to the Eagles by the Portage Minor Baseball Association.
