Dauphin Captures Fairbairn Trophy

Butch McDermid Named M.V.P.

Dauphin Bantam "B" team, winner of the five-team invitational Centennial hockey tournament held in the Portage Centennial Arena Saturday. The team coached by Lou Hill, front row, extreme left, had a fairly easy day disposing of their opponents by top-heavy scores except the Portage All-Stars who extended the victors, going down by a 5-3 count.

Portage Bantam "B" goalie Butchie McDermid was named the most valuable player during the five-team invitational tournament held Saturday in the Centennial Arena. He received the Reward Shoe Trophy at the conclusion of the tourney late Saturday evening. In the photo are, from the left, Scotty Dunbar who engineered the competitions, Butchie McDermid, Walter Code representing the donor and Mayor W. A. Linden who made the presentation.

The Fairbairn Men's Wear Centennial Trophy went to Dauphin Bantam "B" squad after competing against four others in the Centennial invitational Bantam "B" hockey tournament held in the Centennial Arena Saturday. Holding the trophy is captain Lorne Hill. Others are coach Lou Hill, Mayor W. A. Linden who made the presentation and Portage Minor Hockey Association president Harold Painter.
