Ukrainian Catholic Womens League Presents $3,000 To Parish Hall Building Fund
Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of the Church of Assumption Saturday night presented a cheque for $3,000 to the new parish hall building fund. The presentation was made during the UCWL's annual banquet held in the Hotel Portage. In the photo, from the left, are Rev. Stephen Tarnavesky, guest speaker, formerly of Portage and now the chaplain of the Holy Family Home for the Aged in Winnipeg; Rev. Canon A. Luhhovy; league treasurer Mrs. M. Kushner; president Mrs. J. Pollock; building committee chairman E. Strutt, who accepted the donation; John Pollock, president of the church; and D. Jakymeczko, vice-chairman.
