HAILSTONES, WIND POUND PORTAGE
Tree Uprooted: The furious hail and wind storm that rocked Portage Friday afternoon uprooted this tree outside 112 main street and toppled it over on the garage. At the root of the tree, the sidewalk was pulled up by the force of the storm. The residents Flt.-Lieut. and Mrs. B.T. Walsh, are away on holidays.

No television here: One of the TV aerials toppled by Fridays storm belonged to W. Knowson McDermid of 230 Queen avenue east. The hail, wind and rain storm disrupted power throughout the city for an hour.

Main street blocked- This tree on main street near Countess avenue was snapped like a matchstick during the height of the Fridays storm. Residents were fortunate that the wind did not push the tree the other way. A Manitoba Power Commission truck is parked nearby, This is the area where most of the power distribution took place.
