CPR June 30 1955 News LAST HAND-CAR MAN RETIRED BY CPR. Pumping days over: One of the last hand-car men on the Canadian pacific right-of-way, Section Foreman A. Hanson of Poplar Point, here receives best wishes from L. W. Fogg, assistant superintendent of the Portage division at Winnipeg, on his retirement after 44 years of service. In the background is the hand-car which Hanson preferred to track motor because it kept him warm in the winter. Roadmaster G. Hennessey was present at the end of the last shift to add his good wishes and others in the picture are the section crew and Mrs. Hanson. Left to right, are: J. M. Hourie; Mr. Fogg; P. Danyluk; Mr. Hanson; G. E. Henderson; Mrs. Hanson and Mr. Hennesey.
