McLenaghen Block

Another of the buildings that graced Saskatchewan avenue at the turn of the century was the McLenaghen block. This photo is reproduced from a booklet on Portage la Prairie published 50 years ago.

The T. A. Garland Company, at the turn of the century, one of the largest retail stores in Western Canada. The store was owned by Nicholas Garland, one of Toronto's leading business men.
