High School Annual Bonspiel Event Winners
Ken Wright's P.C.I. rink captured top honors at the Portage High Schools Annual bonspiel. They won the Fairbairn's Mens Wear trophy by beating Doln Wilkinson's Arthur Meighen quartet in the final. Grant Farncombe skipped his rink to a win in the second event, the Narvey, in the Portage High School's bonspiel held Thursday and Friday. From the left, Farncombe, second Valerie Hrymak, Mel Narvey, who presented the trophy, lead Terry Marsh and third Murray Crewson. Farncombe beat Bert Owens in the final.
Darragh event winners at the Portage High School bonspiel was Marlene Troop's P.C.I. rink. She defeated Brent Moody of Arthur Meighen in the finals of the third event. Ed Thurston skipped his rink to the championship in the Daily Graphic event, an event open to only the rinks from P.C.I. and Arthur Meighen High School.
