Schram 35 mm Nov. 3/74 M. Curling MEN’S CASH BONSPIEL WINNERS
Splitting up the loot at the curling clubs weekend bonspiel are the rinks of Reg Tomalin and Murray Malanchuk. Tomalin, with a victory over Bob Warburton in the final, was the winner of the top event. Other members of the winners were Ron Russell, Ken Blair, and Brian Hyde. With Warburton were Al McCartney, Arnold Bachalo and Ted Moon.
Malanchuk defeated Al Dahl in the finals of the second event. Lining up with Malanchuk were Murray Cumberland, Bob Murray and Ron Goodale. With Dahl were Larry Addison, Rick Williams and Doug Halmarson.
There was a disappointing entry to the two-day event, only 23 rinks, down considerably from the target set by the bonspiel committee. The lack of enthusiasm was attributed to the nice weather that prevailed prior to the weekend, doing little to get people in the mood for curling. Social highlight was a dance Saturday evening.
