MB1870: Manitoba Historical Photographs

(Moffat) July 24th, 1970 CHURCH OF ASSUMPT. CHURCH OF ASSUMPTION GROUP HOSTS TOURING UKRANIAN YOUTH ASSOC. GROUP IN THE STEPS OF THE PIONEERS was the theme of a special Centennial celebration that brought more than 200 young Ukrainians (part of the Ukrainian Youth Association of Canada) to Portage la Prairie recently. In Portage they visited the Church of Assumption where they were greeted by Rev. Father Eugene Olinek and the new Centennial hall where ladies of the parish served them refreshments. The UYAC comprising over 500 Canadian youth is touring Manitoba in two or three groups in a special Centennial project.
