HIGH CURLING WINNERS RECEIVE FIREFIGHTERS TROPHY
High School champions| Greg Jordan’s rink Wednesday won the Portage Firefighters High School curling championship for 1973. The Jordan rink defeated Larry Dewis’s rink in the final. From the left are Portage Fire Chief Harold Braden, Jordan, third Jim Pallister, second Roger Fortier, and lead Sue Lyon and Wayne Christie, secretary-treasurer of the Portage Firefighters Social Club. Curling with Dewis, who won three games were Calvin Brown, Gerry Caister, and Pat Ferris. The Neil Jordan rink was third and Bob Thompson’s rink was fourth in the 20 rink competition. Greg Jordan won five games. The trophy was first put up in 1969 with PCI winning every year with the exception of 1970 when Arthur Meighen rink won.
