Mike Russick Wins Armstrong Trophy
For Some 20 Years Mike Russick of Winnipeg has been trying to win the Dr. G. P. Armstrong trophy at the annual Portage golf club tournament. Mike finally was able to get his hands on the elusive silverware Sunday as he topped a field of 144 at this year’s edition of the tourney. On the right, making the presentation is tourney chairman, Steve Swabuk. (Story on page three)
Tournament Chairman Steve Swabuk obviously had the answer to every problem Sunday at the golf club’s annual tourney, including how to live with the heat. Despite temperatures which almost came out the top of the thermometer, Steve was able to survive in relative comfort with the benefit of his primitive but nonetheless effective measures.
