Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Lees - 35 years of service - Testimonial banquet

Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Lees were honored at an appreciation banquet held Friday night in the Hotel Portage by residents of Newton Siding and friends from the surrounding area. Mr. and Mrs. Lees have served the district for 35 continuous years, operating a general store. Mr. Lees has acted as the post master during that time. Bob Carr, left, presented a framed scroll to Mr. and Mrs. Lees while Mrs. F. Parynuick, right, presented a set of cut glass to the couple.
