Southport “Timmy” committee presentations
The annual Timmy dance proceeds of $5,000 was presented Saturday night by the Sergeants’ Mess at CFB Portage to the March of Dimes and Easter Seal campaigns locally. At top left, Sgt. I. Etmanski, acting on behalf of the senior NCOs, presents a cheque to Doug Muirhead, chairman of the March of Dimes campaign in Portage. At right, Barry Mills of the Kinsmen Club accepts the other half as chairman of the Easter Seals. In turn the Society for Crippled Children and Adults in Manitoba received the funds. At bottom left Royal Canadian Legion president Percy Boughton turns over the branch’s campaign funds to provincial March of Dimes chairman W. H. Vopni. At right, Barry Bills makes a similar presentation to Sid Shaw representing the Easter Seals committee.
