Sled dog winners

Mayor H. L. Henderson, left, presents Neil Whitehead of St. Adolphe, Man. with the championship trophy of the five-dog sled race. Also included in the picture are Mrs. Newcombe, Jim Newcombe and W. Stewart, of St. Germaine, rear, who is president of the Manitoba Sled Dog Club. Jim Newcombe won the three-dog sled race. There were only 11 entries after a storm warning cut down the number of entries. The sled dog racers competed Saturday at Brandon in the Keystone Centre. Attempts are being made to get the sled dog racers back to Portage again this winter as they were pleased with both the track and their reception.
