Legion "Tartan" lounge ribbon cutting ceremony

Ted Webb, sole surviving charter member of the Major Fawcett Taylor branch, Royal Canadian Legion, was on hand Saturday to cut the ribbon officially opening the recently-renovated lounge. Dominion command representative Des. Robinson (left) and branch president Percy Boughton hold the ribbon for Mr. Webb. In the background, left to right, are: Portage MLA Gordon Johnston, MP Gerald Cobbe, Reeve Robert Adrain of the rural municipality; and Ald. A. R. Barrett, representing the city. A standing-room-only crowd watched the ceremony, designed to celebrate the 100-chair lounge's $28,000 facelift.
