Retirement
Mrs. R. L. Cochran R.N. retires from hospital staff
After almost 16 years of service at the Portage General Hospital, Mrs. R. L. Cochran, RN, is retiring from the permanent staff. Mrs. Cochran joined the staff in September, 1954. She worked as general duty RN on surgical and was day supervisor for nine months. She returned to general duty and moved to central supply in July, 1956 and has been there since. She will continue to serve on a part-time basis. Special presentations and a farewell cake marked her retirement during the staff coffee break Friday afternoon in the hospital cafeteria. In the photo, from the left, Alderman A. R. Barrett who made a presentation of an engraved silver bracelet on behalf of the board of directors of the hospital, Mrs. Cochran, Carole Hancock, R.N., day supervisor holding the cake and Tanis Dreher, R.N., who made the presentation of a silver brooch and matching earrings on behalf of the hospital staff.
