Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent visits city
The reception at the Prince Charles School all over, Prime Minister and Mrs. St. Laurent and their daughter Mrs. Frank Lafferty are pictured above as they get into their car to leave for the private railroad car. Holding the door is Staff Sergeant Alcock of the local detachment R.C.M.P.. During the reception hundreds of Portage and district residents met and shook hands with Prime Minister and Mrs. St. Laurent and the official party.
