Fort la Reine Gr. 6 “Space World” project


Pilot project

With ‘Space’ as their chosen topic, grade six students at Fort la Reine school under the direction of teachers, Miss E. Burnett and Bill Main, have piloted a project whereby all skills and all subjects are brought into the compilation of information about travel and living in outer space. Here, from the left, Cathy Bourrie, Sandra Carmichael and Barbara Blake look at one of the displays on travel in outer space. Teachers both had many reasons for liking the new approach to learning but the most positive feature cited was the way in which the project involved all students and drew out the more reticent youngsters.
